We sell Christian and Christian safe gifts. Every Sunday morning I sit in church and listen to the moms. Some have their children with them and are quick to brag on how this one or that drove to be with them in church. She will save seats just to make sure they are all sitting together and beams the entire service. Some will only have some of her children and she will make an excuse as to why the others couldnt be there and it seems like she doesnt even care about the ones that did make it. Others wont have any of their children. She will say I wish they were here but... and she will sit and try not to stare at the ones who have their children with them. She will think to herself..."if even one of my kids was here I wouldnt be like them and just talking about the one who wasnt here. I would shout about the one who was". Then she will try even harder to listen to the "mothers day message". She will go home after the service and wait. They may or may not come. All the mothers wanted the same thing, their children with them. The first mother was blessed and all her children were able to be with her. The second mother had some. She may not had seemed greatful for the ones who showed but believe me she was. Just like God, she is concerned about the ones not with her and doesnt want anyone to think bad of them. The third mother will act like it doesnt matter, but it does. For those who dont show, she will tell them its ok and she had a lot of things to do but let me tell you this. She is waiting. She wont really go anywhere or leave the phone. She is praying that maybe you will surprise her and show up or call. These are the mothers that I see watching the door to the church...just in case. Give mom what she really wants, YOU! A Visit or at least a long phone call if you live to far away, is what she really wants. Yes I sell christian gifts. I sell gift baskets and christian art and they make great gifts but they will never replace the gift of love from being there for her.
People have changed this year in their shopping habits. Instead of sending mom a gift basket they are sending her a work of art. I have been very busy shipping Christian art all over the world this year. I guess the way we spend is so important compared to past times we are sending gifts that will bless for years to come.
